I’ve been thinking of you — you being whoever is still checking in here from time to time. Thanks for the encouragement to come back. There’s some news to share:
Last Friday, we did it. We adopted a new puppy. On Saturday morning, I would have posted about how sweet and delightful he was. This morning, it’s more like “I’m too old for this shit.” (Yea, seriously, the shit.) But he is sweet, and mostly delightful and he makes us laugh a lot, which is welcome and needed.
His name is Riggins, after the character Tim Riggins, on Friday Night Lights. The TV Riggins is an irresistible rascal. He’s also a drunken, promiscuous s.o.b. We’re hoping to avoid that part, with our Riggins. Rigmarole; Piggins; Riglet the Piglet. He has brought some joy. Not that we were joyless, but we were operating at somewhat of a deficit, for a little while now.
Puppies are a blessing.
(Would you believe I’ve forgotten how to post photos, or else WordPress has changed the process? So, yea, that’s him in the header, and I’ll post more soon.)
So. darn. cute.
Glad to see you posting again š You’ve been missed.
Congrats, Riggins is very cute! Good to see you’re back, you’ve been missed.
He makes a wonderful masthead, too. So happy for you guys!!!
Welcome to the family, Riggins! You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into, but trust me… you’re the luckiest little guy!! And I know you’ll pay back that luck with all the laughter you’re going to provide, so thanks in advance for that.
“Riglet the Piglet”!!!! Now THAT is a children’s book in the making if ever I heard one!
I can’t wait to see the funny photos of this little guy.
So happy you have posted, and so, so, so happy about the New Sheriff.
Holy, cute?!
He is a cute “little shit”. Glad to see you back Susie! I will be back for updates.
yay for new puppies!
Aw! Adorable! What a little pooper. Blessings on his soft little head.
He is adorable, and I can’t wait to hear more about his antics.
And I totally get you on the shit thing. I took Cinder to the vet this morning, and on the way home she pooped in the front seat of the car. I got her into the backseat, and stopped at the first Wawa (convenience store) I encountered. But in between that time, she managed to get back into the front seat and some of the poop rolled off into my purse on the floor. Nice.
Hooray for joy in life!
My neighbor’s chocolate lab loves beer. Sh!t is the only thing keeping me dogless right now — well, that and the lack of a fence.
He’s absolutely adorable! Congrats and many happy tail wags!
does this mean that vonKranki will making little cowboy outfits for the new sherriff?
He’s adorable!!
I don’t “do” puppies anymore, but the puppy-ness will end and he’ll still be cute.
Glad to see you posting.
So good to see a post from you again! I’ve often wondered how you were doing. š Yes, WP has changed quite a few things.
Congratulations on the new addition! š Happy puppy-ing!!
Glad to see your blog pop up on my reader again! Riggins is adorable. We have a 13-year-old Minpin, and periodically we think about getting a puppy. Then I remember our housetraining woes, and that if someone pees on the carpet, I will not be sure who did it. That brings me back to reality.
Looking forward to hearing more about how you’re doing, Susie. Post again soon, please!
The cats are getting nervous with all this getting-new-doggies going on in Blogsylavania. (Don’t tell the cats I said this, but Riggins is adorable!)
Well, I had stopped coming by, but Google Reader knows how to catch ya š
the doggy in the header has a cute waggly tail
What I want to know (and everyone, please sing along with me) how much is that doggy in the masthead?
AWESOME! And he’s cute too!
Awesome. Congratulations. Wasn’t Riggins a running back for the Redskins?
William, yes, back in the day, the Redskins had a Riggins. This household is pro-Ravens, anti-Redskins, and we must frequently explain that no, he is not named for the Redskins player, but for a different football playing Riggins, a drunken slut on television. (It occurs to me that the Redskins Riggins may also have been a drunken slut on television. We’ll have to refine our explanation.)
Yeah, that was me checking in . . . glad to “see” you!
Dogs are some of the best people I know!
Welcome back, I have missed your posts.
Awe, Happy Joy Joy! A new dog, one of God’s most wonderful gifts minus the poop.
Aha, caught you back here too!
Love the puppy!!!
YEAAAHHH I’ve missed you! (never commented until now) You’ve given me a few laughs to get through my days in reality! Welcome back and can’t wait to hear the exciting stories about Riggins š
