Susie (skimming new emails): Hey, I’m still getting mail from Obama’s campaign. What . . . they’re STILL asking for money?
Jif: What’s he need money for now?
LG: Probably for the puppy.

LG is wise beyond her tender years. The puppy — it sucks you in with all the cute and all the helpless and all the goofy, endearing puppydog eyes — then it body-slams you with the cost of veterinary care, medicine, vaccinations, ever-larger collars, new leashes, bowls, food, lawn repair, lawn furniture repair/replacement, shoes, dog toys, travel crates, groomers, dog-sitters…
Oh. Wait. What were you saying? Sorry, got a little carried away there with the overwhelming financial commitment represented by a puppy.
Hey, like Shari said, puppies aren’t cheap.
Gotta get ready for 2012!
(Your kid…she’s smart!)
Whew! I’m glad to have that one answered. I’ve been wondering that myself!
Pee removal ain’t free.
Yeah for the puppy AND the basketball court he would like to have installed at the whitehouse.
Well yeah, puppies gotta eat.
Yeah, I bet the pet deposit at the White House ain’t cheap!
Love. Hugs. Prayers.
I could never be president.
The Girl.A in me would be soo tempted to pull down my pants and pee on the desk in the oval office….
and about a dozen similar things.
Boy does it make me feel gleeful thinking of all the absurd things I could do if I lived in the White House.
Hey I know two saint bernards he can have REAL cheap.
Don’t forget all the Secret Service the puppy will need. That can’t be cheap.
Have you been showing Biscuit’s vet & food bills to LG?
Good one, LG!
For a while during the campaign we got more mail from Obama than from credit card companies. We started joking that he was sending us a great introductory rate on an Obama Visa… which we could use to support the campaign by tacking on a 5% donation to every purchase.
Actually I read today in the newspaper that the president-elect has to raise money for their transition team and for the inaugural event. Apparently the gov’t pays for $5 or 6 million of the transition expenses, but they think that it will cost more than $12 million. It also said that W. raised more than $40 million for his 2004 inaugural.
I share this because i was kind of blown away. I thought after a prez was elected they got to stop with the fund raising.
(But on the puppy note, I second that! Our $50 adoption fee shelter pooch has cost an incredible amount already.)
It does add up, the new puppy’s needs.
Laughing, that must be it . . . the first puppy will not want.
Seriously puppies are expensive.
Just thinkin’ of you today my dear.
Missing my Susie Sunday posts.
Praying for you.
Yep, I’m still getting those emails, too. Got one yesterday.
Happy Sunday, Miss Susie. My morning so far is bittersweet.
We sent Middle Son off on a shuttle bus for O’Hare, where he will be leaving on a jet plane to see his sweetie in warm weather California.
Our actual Turkey Day is gonna be quiet.
Happy Sunday Susie! Echo kcinnova. Hope you are doing welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll !
